Birding Leader - Esteban Biamonte
Before becoming a full-time naturalist guide, Esteban Biamonte was a Teacher Assistant for the ornithology course at the University of Costa Rica and also worked for the Museum of Zoology, taking care of the bird collection. He is a certified guide by the Costa Rican Board of Tourism and has lead many natural history and birding groups through his native country over the last decade. more...
Summary
Costa Rica is home to more than 840 bird species in an area no larger than West Virginia. From Resplendent Quetzals and Scarlet Macaws to Brown Pelicans and humming birds, there are more bird species in Costa Rica than in all of North America combined. Join local naturalist guide Esteban Biamonte on this 11-day journey and study Costa Rican avifauna in their natural settings, ranging from mountains, seashores, mangroves, highland and lowland forests, rain forests and more.
