The city of Oaxaca, situated in the Y-shaped Valley of Oaxaca, is truly one of the jewels of Mexico. The valley abounds in ancient archaeological sites, remnants of the early Zapotec and Mixtec peoples who inhabited this fertile region, as well as present-day villages that specialize in various arts and crafts. The city itself is a mix of magnificent colonial churches and civic buildings, and is a vibrant modern society rich in museums, galleries, parks and cafés.

This eight-day tour focuses on the area’s rich history, archaeology, traditional folk art, delicious food, and contemporary culture.
