STAD AMSTERDAM

The Stad Amsterdam is a one-of-a-kind replica of a 19th-century clipper ship, rigged just as the Cutty Sark and her contemporaries were, with more than 20,000 square feet of sails, and yards and yards of rope. Take the opportunity to sail aboard this extraordinary vessel through the warm blue waters of the Lesser Antilles, to some of the Caribbean’s most beautiful and biologically interesting islands.

Passengers are encouraged to join the sailors as they scramble into the rigging to drop the sails, or help their mates as they heave on the ropes to turn the yardarms to catch the wind. Otherwise, enjoy the action from the comfort of a deck chair. In either case, you will experience a thrill as the wind propels the ship, for the sails are not just for show.

While the ship is about 250-feet long with masts rising 150-feet about the deck, it only has 10 cabins, so space is strictly limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Perhaps you will be among the fortunate few to leave winter behind and sail the tropics in a style reminiscent of a bygone era.
