Summary

Peru ranges from the Pacific coast up into the high Andes and down into the Amazon basin, producing an incredible biodiversity. On this program, we visit Manu Wildlife Center, which has the richest biodiversity in the Americas, and perhaps the entire world, with over 15,000 species of flowering plants, 1,000 species of birds, and more than 200 species of mammals, thirteen of which are monkeys.

Our itinerary takes us over two Andean passes to explore both the west and the east side of the Andes, and down into the Amazon Basin. From inter-montane valleys to cloud forest, and from the heights of the Andes to the Amazon River Basin, the flora and fauna are extraordinarily diverse.

Our lodges are ideally positioned in the midst of the natural habitat. You can take in the natural beauty, seeing birds, flowering plants, and lush rainforest vegetation right from your own private balcony or the lodges’ front porch.

Manu Wildlife Center is especially interesting because we will be sharing the lodge with scientists actively involved in research projects, which they will be happy to discuss.

Group size is limited to just 18 travelers.
